FAQ
Access Keys
Section titled “Access Keys”Does the form ID need to be kept secret?
Section titled “Does the form ID need to be kept secret?”No. The form ID is public-safe — it’s designed to be visible in your HTML. It can only send submissions to your form; it can’t read your data or access your account.
Think of it like an email address: someone could email you if they have it, but they can’t read your emails.
What if someone finds my form ID and sends spam through it?
Section titled “What if someone finds my form ID and sends spam through it?”Formkove has multiple layers blocking abuse:
- Honeypot — bots fill the hidden botcheck field, which marks submissions as spam
- Spam scoring — AI scores every submission; high-score submissions are flagged
- Cloudflare Turnstile (Pro) — adds captcha protection with no per-submission fees
If you see spam coming through, enable Turnstile or contact support.
Can I restrict submissions to my domain?
Section titled “Can I restrict submissions to my domain?”Yes — domain restriction is available on Pro plans. Only submissions from your approved domain will be accepted.
GDPR and Privacy
Section titled “GDPR and Privacy”Is Formkove GDPR compliant?
Section titled “Is Formkove GDPR compliant?”Formkove does not store form submissions long-term. Submissions are processed and forwarded — to your email, a webhook, or an integration — then discarded. Server logs (which may contain some metadata) are deleted after 60 days.
We don’t sell or share your data. For formal compliance questions, consult a legal advisor.
Where are the servers?
Section titled “Where are the servers?”Formkove operates from US-based infrastructure.
What data does Formkove keep?
Section titled “What data does Formkove keep?”- Submission data is forwarded to your configured endpoints and not stored on Formkove servers
- Server logs (IP, timestamp, rough size) are kept for ~60 days for abuse prevention
- Form configuration (form ID, email, integrations) is stored in your account
Spam Protection
Section titled “Spam Protection”What’s the difference between honeypot and Turnstile?
Section titled “What’s the difference between honeypot and Turnstile?”| Honeypot | Turnstile | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | Free | You bring your own Cloudflare keys |
| User interaction | None (invisible) | User may see a checkbox challenge |

Why does Formkove use Turnstile instead of reCAPTCHA?

AI Classification
Section titled “AI Classification”How does Formkove know what tags to assign?
Section titled “How does Formkove know what tags to assign?”You define the tags in the dashboard using plain language (e.g., “sales lead”, “support request”). Formkove reads each submission and decides which tags apply. You don’t train a model — you just describe what you care about.
Does AI classification work on all submissions?
Section titled “Does AI classification work on all submissions?”Yes, unless a submission is flagged as spam before AI processing. High-spam-score submissions may be filtered before classification runs.
